Student Terms

These Student Terms form part of the Terms of Service and apply to you when you use LETO Class as a Student to find and book tutoring services. Please read these terms carefully alongside the main Terms of Service, Payments & Wallet Terms, and Dispute & Refund Policy.

1. SCOPE

These terms apply when you:

(a) Create an account and select the Student role;

(b) Browse or search for Tutors on the Platform;

(c) Book and attend tutoring sessions;

(d) Use your Wallet to pay for lessons;

(e) Communicate with Tutors through the Platform.

If you also use LETO Class as a Tutor, the Tutor Terms will apply to those activities.

2. BOOKING LESSONS

2.1 Booking Process

To book a lesson:

1. Search for a Tutor based on subject, university, language, or other criteria;

2. Review the Tutor's profile, qualifications, ratings, and pricing;

3. Select an available time slot;

4. Confirm your booking (funds will be reserved from your Wallet);

5. Wait for the Tutor to accept your booking;

6. Once accepted, you will receive confirmation with lesson details.

2.2 Wallet Requirement

You must have sufficient funds in your Wallet before booking a lesson. The full lesson amount will be reserved (placed in Escrow) when you confirm your booking. If you do not have sufficient funds, you will be prompted to top up your Wallet.

2.3 Booking Confirmation

A booking is only confirmed when the Tutor accepts it. Until then, your funds remain reserved but the lesson is not guaranteed. If the Tutor declines or does not respond within a reasonable time, the reserved funds will be released back to your Wallet.

3. YOUR RIGHTS UNDER EU LAW

3.1 14-Day Withdrawal Right

Under EU consumer protection law (Consumer Rights Directive), you normally have the right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days without giving any reason.

However, for services that begin with your explicit consent before the withdrawal period expires, you lose your right to withdraw once the service has been fully performed.

Important: When you confirm a booking, you will be asked to agree to the following statement:

*"I request that the tutoring service begins immediately upon the scheduled lesson time, and I acknowledge that I will lose my right to withdraw from this contract once the tutoring session has been completed."*

By confirming your booking with this consent, you agree that:

(a) The service may begin before the 14-day withdrawal period expires;

(b) Once the lesson is completed, you cannot withdraw from that booking under the 14-day rule;

(c) For lessons scheduled more than 14 days in advance, you retain your withdrawal right until the lesson takes place.

This consent does not affect your rights under our Cancellation Policy. You may still cancel bookings according to the Dispute & Refund Policy and receive refunds as specified there.

4. ATTENDING LESSONS

4.1 Your Responsibilities

When attending lessons, you agree to:

(a) Join the video call on time (we recommend joining a few minutes early to test your setup);

(b) Ensure you have a stable internet connection and working audio/video equipment;

(c) Be in a suitable environment for learning (quiet, free from distractions);

(d) Treat your Tutor with respect and professionalism;

(e) Come prepared with any materials or questions relevant to the session.

4.2 No-Show Consequences

If you fail to join a scheduled lesson within 15 minutes of the start time without prior cancellation:

(a) The lesson will be considered completed;

(b) The Tutor will be entitled to 75% of the lesson amount (25% Platform Fee applies);

(c) You will not receive a refund.

If you experience an emergency that prevents you from attending, please cancel as soon as possible through the Platform or contact support.

If you were unable to join due to a verified platform technical outage (not your own internet or equipment issues), please contact support with details and we will review your case.

4.3 Technical Requirements

Lessons are conducted via video call. You are responsible for:

(a) A device with a camera and microphone (computer, tablet, or smartphone);

(b) A stable internet connection (we recommend at least 5 Mbps);

(c) An up-to-date web browser compatible with our video platform.

We recommend testing your setup before your first lesson. Technical issues on your end are not grounds for a refund if the Tutor was available and ready.

5. ACADEMIC INTEGRITY

5.1 Permitted Use

LETO Class is designed to support your learning and academic development. Permitted uses include:

(a) Getting help understanding concepts and course material;

(b) Receiving guidance on how to approach assignments and problems;

(c) Reviewing and preparing for exams;

(d) Improving your skills in a subject area;

(e) Getting feedback on your work to help you learn.

5.2 Prohibited Use

Important: The following uses are strictly prohibited and may result in immediate account termination:

(a) Asking Tutors to complete assignments, essays, or homework that you will submit as your own work;

(b) Using tutoring sessions to cheat on exams or tests;

(c) Requesting answers to be copied verbatim into graded work;

(d) Any form of contract cheating or academic fraud;

(e) Misrepresenting work done by a Tutor as your own.

These activities violate academic integrity policies at virtually all educational institutions and may have serious consequences for your academic career beyond our Platform.

5.3 Your Responsibility

You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of tutoring services complies with your institution's academic integrity policies. If you are unsure whether a particular use is permitted, consult your institution's guidelines or ask your professor.

LETO Class and our Tutors are not responsible for any academic consequences you may face as a result of how you use the knowledge gained from tutoring sessions.

6. COMMUNICATION

6.1 Platform Messaging

All communication with Tutors should take place through the Platform's messaging system. This helps to:

(a) Keep a record of your discussions;

(b) Protect both you and the Tutor in case of disputes;

(c) Ensure you receive notifications about your bookings.

6.2 Communication Standards

When communicating with Tutors, you agree to:

(a) Be respectful and professional;

(b) Respond to messages in a timely manner, especially regarding upcoming bookings;

(c) Not share personal contact information to circumvent the Platform;

(d) Not engage in harassment, discrimination, or abusive behavior;

(e) Not solicit services outside the Platform.

Violation of these standards may result in warnings, account restrictions, or termination.

7. CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS

Your cancellation rights and refund entitlements are set out in the Dispute & Refund Policy. Key points for Students:

(a) Cancel more than 24 hours before: 100% refund to Wallet;

(b) Cancel 12-24 hours before: approximately 50% refund to Wallet (exact amount calculated net of Platform Fee);

(c) Cancel less than 12 hours before: No refund;

(d) No-show: No refund (Tutor receives payment).

All refunds are credited to your Wallet. If you wish to withdraw funds from your Wallet to your original payment method, please refer to the Payments & Wallet Terms.

Disputes must be raised within 48 hours of lesson completion. See the Dispute & Refund Policy for full details.

8. RATINGS AND REVIEWS

8.1 Leaving Reviews

After a lesson, you may be invited to rate your Tutor and leave a review. Your feedback helps other Students find great Tutors and helps Tutors improve their services.

8.2 Review Guidelines

When leaving reviews, please:

(a) Be honest and fair in your assessment;

(b) Focus on the tutoring experience and the Tutor's teaching;

(c) Avoid personal attacks or inappropriate language;

(d) Do not include false or misleading information.

We reserve the right to remove reviews that violate these guidelines or our Terms of Service.

9. ACCOUNT RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Student, you are responsible for:

(a) Keeping your account credentials secure;

(b) Maintaining accurate profile information;

(c) Ensuring your Wallet has sufficient funds before booking;
